95% of the separation occurs when...
Compressed air enters the unit and is directed downward between the tank and the outer surface of the internal filter element.
The outside of the internal element features specially designed angled fins to manipulate the direction of the air. These fins create multiple vortices that propel contaminants toward the walls of the tank.
At the base of the internal element, the fins are not angled but vertical and act as brakes for the air.
At this stage, 95% of the contaminants present in the air are removed and fall to the bottom of the tank, where they are automatically discharged by an automatic drain system.

The air is pushed upward through the vertical unit bodies in the shape of an umbrella (UVB).
Water, oil emulsions, and remaining particles merge and form droplets. Gravity takes over, and the droplets fall to the base of the unit to be automatically discharged by a drain valve.
